  • Contemporary Japanese Fashion: The Mary Baskett Collection

    This is an “expanded version of an earlier showing at the Cincinnati Art Museum, will include approximately 40 garments from the collection of Mary Baskett, an art dealer and former curator of prints at the Cincinnati Art Museum who has been collecting and wearing Japanese high fashion since the 1960s.”
  • Fabrics of Feathers and Steel: the Innovations of Nuno
    October 17, 2009 –April 11, 2010
    The exhibition will show examples of eclectic textiles from the Japanese Nuno studio.
  • The Art of Living: Textile Furnishings from the Permanent Collection
    February 12, 2010 - July 2010
    This exhibit will highlight the Museum’s collection of textile furnishings dating from the late Roman Empire and colonial Peru to Edo-period Japan and Victorian Britain.
  • Art by the Yard: Women Design Mid-Century Britain
    May 15, 2010 – September 12, 2010
    This features designs made by Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag, and Marian Mahler.
  • Colors of the Oasis: Central Asian Ikats
    October 16, 2010 – March 13, 2011
    This premier exhibit will feature selections from the Central Asian Ikats given to The Textile Museum by collector Murad Megalli in 2005.The collection will include clothing and home furnishings.
  • Green: a Color and a Cause
    April – September, 2011
    This will explore the historical uses of the color green, the new techniques of making green textiles and the relationships of artists and the environment. Artists are invited to enter work for this exhibit at http://www.textilemuseum.org/PDFs/GREEN%20Call%20for%20Entries.pdf. The deadline is January 29, 2010.
